STATEMENT
When an architect has to design a new building or add to an existing one, he has to respect the exisitng systems also known as the context. The objective of this project is to add functions to an exisitng building, The Smith house, with respect to its contexctual elements and systems.
CONTEXTUAL ANALYSIS
NARRATIVE
A newly married couple just bought their first home, the Smith house, designed by Richard Meier. They were attracted to the house because of its beautiful view of the water. The young couple are very into adventures such as hiking and being part of the outdoors. Although they both have a love for nature the husband is very structured and was attracted to the home not only for its view of the Long Island Sound but also because of its geometric qualities. On the other hand his wife is very organic and wants the home to portray a more natural look. They desire a four seasons room that could be used as a multi-purpose room as well.

Connection
My connection analogy is to use a simple straight circulation, Miere's public and private method and his use of addiction and subraction
